Report Writing

Yesterday and today we have been preparing to write scientific reports. We have been using language such as hypothesis, observe, results, chemical reaction and conclusions.

This morning we experimented with a chemical reaction to create Elephant Toothpaste. We used H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide) and yeast among other ingredients. We are loving the learning and the language that is on display in Navigators 2.

  1. This morning I enjoyed watching Miss Perry and Ms Saxon accomplish the Elephant toothpaste. It was interesting learning about the H2O2 and watching the experiment foam!

  2. That was the most SATISFYING thing we have done. when we did it we used only half of the H2O because we didn't want to have something go wrong and not see the reaction(the catalyst was too dry so we had to get a different type of yeast/catalyst)so this was bigger and more satisfying.I hope we can keep doing these experiments

IT EXPLODED OUT OF THE BOTTLE

  6. so much fun
it was really satisfying when it rose from the bottle
(it looked like real toothpaste because the bottle had a narrow end to it)
