Celebration of Learning

A huge thank you to all the parents, grandparents and friends who came to our celebration of learning yesterday. Your children loved sharing their planets, their writing, their poetry and their art with you. We appreciate your continued support of their learning this term, we know you are proud of them and they are proud of themselves.

Enjoy your holidays,

Tamara and Alice.

Lambs and an Army Band!

What an exciting morning for Nav 2 with the visiting NZ Army band, as well as the latest lambs from the Fergusons!

Tom enjoyed feeding eventually!
Look at Sam's smile!
The lambs were definitely hungry for Hugh's bottle
Marshall had to learn to hold the bottle high
Jo led one around on a lead and Annabel confidently picked it up
Brodey and Felicity enjoyed the lambs' company

Living Springs Camp

Wow, what an amazing three days together at Living Springs! From the walk in, to the recreation activities, to the bush walk, low ropes and initiative activities, to the Farm Park, these children could not have been any better. The way they supported each other, made the most of every opportunity and worked with anyone made us incredibly proud.

Thank you for sharing with us, you guys rock!

Ms Saxon and Miss Perry.

Year 6 Poets

Our Year 6s had a huge 'aha' moment this morning when they realised that their writing was as great as the people they so admired in their class last year! Check out the videos below as proof.

Planets Coming to Life

We have seen some amazing collaborative skills in creating our habitable planets, we can't wait to share them with our families. Samuel made a list for his group today of all the tasks that needed to be done towards completion, he then talked with his group members and assigned tasks. What great learning!

Check out some of the mountains, volcanoes, shelters, trees and other things being attached to our planets.

Maddox and Hugo have worked really hard on their oddly shaped planet
These mountains and volcanoes are looking great
Simone's group's township is coming together
This group's inhabitants will live inside domes
This group has worked really hard to attach their first shelter
Isla is attaching an asteroid!

Greer and Gabriela have made trees and tree houses

First Aid with St John

This morning both classes completed a basic first aid course preparing us for camp.

Paula was so engaging and shared lots of knowledge with us on how to keep ourselves and others safe.

We learnt about -

  • Spains - (PRICED, P-protect, R-rest, I-ice, C-compression, E-elevate, D-diagnose)
  • Breaks - Do not move the person and call 111
  • Choking - Ask the person if they are choking. Deliver 3 blow to their back, if it does not dislodge call 111. Continue to try and dislodge the food. If they stop breathing start CPR.
  • Allergies - How to use Epi-pens
  • Burns - Cool it down under cold running water for 20minutes, apply glad wrap. Go to the doctor if it is a large burn.
  • Bleeding - Apply pressure. Use any clean material. When putting on a bandage think 'happy snail'. 🐌 Pull the bandage tight and keep it flat. Raise the wound above their heart. Two finger test.   Pack, Wrap and Raise
  • Scenarios- How to deal with emergency scenarios that could affect us while we are on camp.
