We had a fabulous afternoon today at the visiting Science Roadshow. We learnt about air pressure and acid and alkaline, as well as taking part in a huge range of hands on activities.
Greer could not break the egg because the surface area she was using was too large
Miss Perry was vacuumed and shrink wrapped!
Simone is testing her grip strength
Brodey is trying to create a hoverboard
Maddy is watching her pupil change size as the light changes
Tom is trying to get rid of oil
Isla is trying to balance without moving a bubble
Annabel is experimenting with centre of gravity
Wow! What a wonderful day we have all had today, I can definitely say a learnt a lot about science!
ReplyDeleteThe sound increaser was so cool! It's like something you would see in spy movies!
ReplyDeletei liked the earthquake machine, it was cool how the building not fixed underground moved a lot more than the building that was fixed underground.
ReplyDeleteThe way the tectonic plates move together and formed a mountain was amazing!
ReplyDeleteBalancing the sticks with balls on them was really fun, i can see that people are struggling though!
ReplyDeleteKeeping the bubble in the middle of the tube was really difficult.
ReplyDeleteit was awesome so much fun
ReplyDeleteLeroy
Squeezing the pump to get the oil to the top was a lot more more difficult than i thought.
ReplyDeletelooking at your pupil change size was a bit freaky, but awesome!
ReplyDeleteIt was awesome how we could look through the tube and make a hole in our palm.
ReplyDeleteleroy looks extremely interested in changing the wire.
ReplyDeletethe hoverboards were really cool, i liked how you could create something close to an air hockey puck!
ReplyDeletemy favourite one was the bending meatal
ReplyDeleteLeroy
I was really exited when someone showed me the pig hologram, because its cool how the light reflects of the object.
ReplyDeleteIt's really hard to keep your balance on the station Isla's at, it would be nice to know how they captured O2 in the tube that tells you if its balanced.
ReplyDeleteAnnabel you are so good at balancing the pole on your fingers!
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to believe that you need a smaller fraction of the egg pressurised to make the egg easier to crack, if i'm correct thats why Greer was unable to crack the egg.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was absolutely disgusting how on the heart stand they were featuring a real horse heart, and real rodent hearts.
ReplyDeleteAltho it was hard, testing my strength on the grip was good to feel a bit stronger.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed the science road show. My favorite part was going around the different experiments.
ReplyDeleteThe kitchen experiments were cool because I learnt so many things.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed the science road show. It was really interesting and fun. My favourite part was walking around the intentions.
ReplyDeleteIt was interesting to watch Miss Perry to try and get up when all off the air was sucked out.
ReplyDeleteThe roadshow was the best. i really enjoyed it
ReplyDeleteI was pretty grossed out when someone told me the rodent and horse hearts were real but I was surprized at how big the horse heart was.
ReplyDeleteThe pig hologram made my brain so confused, and then there was that one where you have to read the colour of the words not the words that were different colours. That was quite hard.
ReplyDeleteAnnabel its impressive how your fingrs are so sturdy that you can balance a pole with a ball on top.
ReplyDeleteit was really cool to watch your pupil expand and shrink depending on the ammount of light
ReplyDelete-Quinn
the science behind when they blew up the ballon and put the stopper in the other end is amazing
ReplyDelete-Quinn
the experiment where you have to balance on the board and try keep the bubble in the middle with out holding onto the bar because your brain thinks your allways upright even of you arent if your holding onto the bar
ReplyDelete-Quinn
I enjoyed the show, and was fanaticised on how to make curds and wades.
